ChocoModica

The city of Modica is represented by its chocolate and this has an event entirely dedicated to itself, The Chocomodica, which is usually organized in the month of December.

San Giovanni Battista

The whole Ragusa gathers around its patron saint with an interminable procession of candles, characterized by the presence of many faithful barefoot or with a red garment, as a sign of a vow or grace received.

Madonna Vasa Vasa

Easter in Modica is characterized by the highly anticipated appointment with the Madonna Vasa-Vasa . Corso Umberto is filled with people to accompany the two processions, one starting from church of Santa Maria di Betlem , one with the simulacrum of the “Risen Christ”, and the other with the simulacrum of the “Madonna” covered by a black mourning veil, accompanied by the town band.

“Il Cavaliere” houses a large and spacious reception room designed for events of all kinds. A large space furnished in the 19th century style to surprise all the guests.

About us

We stayed on March 8, 2022 in this b & b. It is a beautiful renovated noble palace. Giampiero welcomed us warmly giving us lots of advice on what to do in Modica and its surroundings, and where to dine. Excellent room with all comforts including a large bathroom. .The ceilings with paintings of the 18th century in the breakfast room are an extra gem. Breakfast with a sweet and savory choice. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended !!!

The room has remained faithful to the furnishings of the late nineteenth century, with period furniture and perfectly preserved stuccoes. Very spacious and bright. The building allows you to quickly reach the main tourist attractions of the city on foot

The stately building is charming even if not perfectly renovated in the external parts, the location is perfect to enjoy the beauties of a unique city. Varied and quality breakfast, I recommend not to delay otherwise there is not always the availability of the whole buffet. Clean room and comfortable bed. Giampiero is a kind and readily available host. The value for money is excellent.

Facility on the main street but away from the crowds and a stone's throw from the buses. Great convenience for those arriving from Catania airport by bus and for those traveling without a car. Top welcome. Clean and silent structure. Superb breakfast in the lounge overlooking San Giorgio. I left a piece of my heart in this b & b that makes you feel at home.

B & b to be recommended for the location, the spaciousness of the rooms and the possibility of parking. Giampiero, the owner, is very kind and very helpful. The breakfast is varied but sometimes the quantities are insufficient. The structure has great potential is an ancient building that, as a perfectionist, I would take care of more details.

A true noble palace, beautiful and sumptuous. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Gianpiero and his grandfather are two wonderful people who make you feel good without being intrusive. Breakfast, for me who love sweets, is nothing short of amazing, impossible to find in other places, with Sicilian sweets of all kinds, then consumed in a splendid hall with a frescoed ceiling. I will definitely be back and I thank the young Gianpaolo for his excellent welcome and professionalism.
